Challenge Yourself for 2013

Whether you want to stay active, are taking on your first marathon or simply want to get fit this year there are lots of options for you both here at home and abroad. Choose your challenge from the list below and join the UNICEF Team today! We can provide you with lots of support and fundraising materials as well as hints and tips for fundraising along the way.

Now more than ever, we need your help to help raise vital funds as UNICEF’s work for children is completely reliant on voluntary donations. By joining Team UNICEF, your support will make a huge difference to the lives of many vulnerable children supported by UNICEF programmes across the world.

Start your challenge in 3 easy steps:

  1. Check out the list of challenges taking place around the country this year.
  2. Choose your challenge and register your participation with the event organisers.
  3. Sign up with UNICEF and we’ll give you everything you’ll need to help you with your fundraising.

    How do I sign up?

Contact Claudine Kelly via claudine@unicef.ie or call 01 878 3000. You’ll then become a part of the UNICEF Team and get a sponsorship pack, including:
  • A fundraising guide
  • A sponsorship card
  • A UNICEF T-shirt

We’ll also be there every step of the way with hints, tips and advice for fundraising.

You can make fundraising for UNICEF Ireland even easier by setting up your own personalised fundraising page on http://www.unicef.ie/My-UNICEF-76.aspx. The money raised by your supporters is transferred straight to UNICEF Ireland in real time and you will be able to keep track of how much sponsorship has come in.

If you can’t find your chosen event on our list contact us to let us know what you’re doing and we will send you everything you need for your fundraising.

Please remember, registering with UNICEF does not mean you are registered with the event organisers so please ensure you contact them.
Where will my funds go?
As we are voluntary funded, we really rely on as much support as possible from individuals and local communities.  Our small team here in the UNICEF Ireland is strengthened by the on-going support of dedicated fundraisers, advocates, volunteers and partners across the country. With your support, we can continue to help children survive and thrive.

Five years ago 25,500 children died every day from preventable causes. Today that number is19,000. However, 7.6 million children are still not reaching their 5th birthday every year. Worse, they die from preventable causes, such as drinking dirty water, not having shelter at night or not getting access to the most basic medical care: everything we now take for granted here in Ireland. We believe that number should be Zero and by working with us you can help us move closer to achieving this goal. See the work that UNICEF is doing right now
