On Thursday July 16th 2009, many budding Harries, Rons and Hermiones arrived for assembly at the Savoy cinema Dublin, to enjoy a special UNICEF Red Carpet screening of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.
Excited guests, both young and not so young, were treated to a special appearance by UNICEF Ireland Ambassador Ryan Tubridy. Not to be outdone by his RTE colleague, Dustin the Turkey made a rude interruption to Ryan’s performance, going on to insult and heckle poor Tubridy as only Dustin can, much to the delight of the audience.
It was a fantastic family evening and raised just over €10,000 for UNICEF’s Child Survival Programmes.
