UNICEF’s Mini-Marathon Team is getting it’s jog on and 2011 is gonna be our best year yet!

That’s right ladies – whether you want to walk or run, we want you to strut your wonderful stuff on June Bank Holiday Monday, (June 6th) for UNICEF and help us raise money for our programmes for the world’s neediest children.

We have our very own team leader – the lovely Jenny Greene from 2FM – who will be leading Team UNICEF on the day! Jenny is being joined by the other Jenny in 2FM - the wonderful Jenny Huston! Thanks so much girls - we're so excited to have you both on board!

But not only that, Team UNICEF has a special cheerleader!

Citing Glee’s Sue Sylvester as his hero, UNICEF Ireland’s very own ‘fit birdDustin the Turkey is ready to give Team UNICEF some serious team talks and pep rallies in the coming weeks so stay tuned for his weekly motivational tips and advice between now and June 6th!

Sign up today and you could be one of the lucky ladies that get’s a shout out on Twitter from our favourite feathered Ambassador!

What else do we have for our team this year?

We’ll have free boot camps with our special personal trainers Alan Dunne and Jamie Lawlor as well as weekly training tips to get you fit and fabulous by June 6th! Check out our Facebook and Twitter for more details!

So before you book that leg wax (let’s face it girls, we’ve been hiding our pins all Winter!) and tie up your runners, here are the two easy steps to join Team UNICEF 2011!

Firstly – the ‘official’ bit –  you need to sign up to take part in the mini-marathon at www.florawomensminimarathon.ie or see the Evening Herald on Wednesdays for details. All Participants must enter on an official entry form and registrations remain open until Wednesday 27th April 2011 or when maximum number of entries are reached.

Once you have done this why not let us know you are taking part and register to join ‘Team UNICEF.’ Please contact Eleanor and the team on 01 – 809 0277 / 01 878 3000 or email Eleanor on eleanor@unicef.ie. UNICEF will support you by sending out a fundraising pack, keeping you informed of group runs and by giving hugs/pep talks as needed :)

You can also set up your own unique sponsorship page on the UNICEF website where you can direct people to donate, as well as upload your own photos and information. Why not forward this on to your female friends and family. Join Team UNICEF today and let’s see how much we can raise this year!
