Please accept our condolences if you have recently lost a loved one. UNICEF Ireland is extremely grateful to you for considering us at this difficult time.
Saving and protecting children
Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way to celebrate their life and to make a lasting difference to the lives of others. Your donation will help UNICEF ensure children around the world get the very best start in life, by making sure they have access to healthcare, clean water and sanitation, nutrition and early education.
When children receive the best start in life, they are protected during a high risk period, and are more likely to grow healthily, to have fewer illnesses and to fully develop thinking, language, emotional and social skills – in sum, to survive and to thrive.
Donations in lieu of flowers
When someone dies, we often give flowers, but many families and friends suggest that donations in memory be sent to a charity their loved one supported during their life. If this is something you are considering, you might include the following wording in the death notice:
- Donations in lieu of flowers to: UNICEF Ireland, 33 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1.
- Alternatively you can arrange a gift in memory through the funeral director.
UNICEF In Memoriam Card
If you wish, you may donate a UNICEF Inspired Gift in their memory. When you purchase an Inspired Gift, we will send you a special card so you can include your own personal message, and then send it on to the loved ones of the deceased.
Donations can also be made directly to UNICEF Ireland in several ways:
- Make a donation online
- By sending us a cheque or postal order to 33 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1
- By calling Andrea or Niki on 01-878 3000 and making a donation over the phone
