UNICEF Ireland Appoints Peter Power as Executive Director

UNICEF Ireland is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Power to the position of Executive Director. A qualified solicitor and former Minister of State for International Aid and Development, Peter has a passion for the NGO sector and a significant track record in Development Aid.  Peter’s work as Minister of State has provided him with deep insights into the sector having worked with such organizations as the OECD and United Nations, as well as leading the decentralisation process of lrish Aid. His initiatives have proven to be well received on a global stage and he has built a strong personal reputation in the sector. He will commence his role in mid January.
 
UNICEF Ireland conducted an extensive executive search process led by Amrop Strategis Global Executive Search.  A sub-committee of the UNICEF Ireland board conducted detailed interviews led by Chairman Paul Connolly and board members Tom Hayes, Sinead Kelly and Andrew Weld-Moore.
