Children's Referendum

Make sure YOUR VOICE is heard in the Children’s Referendum campaign!

On November 10th, Ireland will vote on strengthening the rights of children in the Constitution. Decisions about the lives of children will be made by adult voters but what are your views on this historic Referendum?

All over Ireland a discussion is taking place on children’s rights; UNICEF Ireland wants to publicise the voices of children and young people in this debate and display your valuable opinions and participation.

Toolkits for schools and youth groups – these workshops are a great way to discuss children’s rights and the Referendum in your school or youth group. All of our materials are age-appropriate.

Your Voice: Your Vote Polling Day – we’re asking young people under-18 years of age to hold your own Referendum before the 6th November (*Deadline Now Extended* One more day to hold you poll).  It’s easy – just follow the easy steps in our guide.

It’s About You Animation and Launch Video – watch our short animation which explains what this Referendum is all about. Listen to young people explain what the Referendum means to them in our launch party video.
