Syria is the most dangerous place on Earth to be a child

After almost 8 years of relentless conflict in Syria, millions of children have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety. With little but the clothes on their backs, many will struggle to survive this winter without support. There are currently 2.8 million internally displaced children and a further 2.5 million child refugees who have fled to neighbouring countries. These children have lost everything; their friends, homes, schools and some have even lost their families.

Having witnessed the unimaginable horrors of a bitter conflict, they are now facing the threat of an unforgiving winter. With freezing temperatures and no way to keep warm, winter is a cruel time to be a Syrian child. We cannot leave them to suffer alone.

How your donation can help Syrian children?

It is only because of support from people like you that UNICEF can continue our work on the ground, in the hard to reach areas of Syria and in the refugee camps in surrounding countries. Thousands of children are facing a harsh winter without the most basic supplies. Forced from home by war, they are living in flimsy tents and in damaged buildings with no proper heating or protection from the bitter cold and driving rain and snow.

Your donation means everything. We are funded entirely by voluntary contributions. By giving today you will be helping to provide vulnerable children with the life-saving supplies they urgently need.

Your support can help protect these children from the extreme winter weather with thermal blankets and winter clothing kits containing waterproof coats, sweaters, warm trousers, woolly hat and scarf.
The next few weeks are critical if we are to reach children in time. We must act fast to keep these children safe.
