Become a Child Rights Champion

Are you ready to make a difference in your community? Join UNICEF’s Child Rights Champion’s programme designed specifically for young people, aged 15-18. Gain the skills, knowledge, and strategies to become a powerful force for positive change. Whether you’re looking for meaningful work experience, want to volunteer your time, or simply want to create a better world around you, this programme is perfect for you!

We offer two exciting course options: online and in-person, to suit your preferences and location.

Our online course is designed for those who live outside of Dublin. You can participate from home via Zoom, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 1 pm. Each day covers a different topic and provides interactive activities to help you learn and grow as a young activist.

We also offer in-person courses if you can make it to Dublin city centre. These immersive one-day courses run from 9:45 am to 4:30 pm and dive deep into specific issues that affect children’s rights. In the afternoon, you’ll learn advocacy and activism skills and create an action plan to bring about change in your school the following week.

Please keep in mind that UNICEF covers the cost of these courses, which are quite expensive to run. Therefore, we ask that all applicants be fully committed to attending the program and have permission from their teacher and parent or guardian. Due to the high demand, we maintain waiting lists and make every effort to accommodate everyone.
