Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Check Out for Children is an alliance between UNICEF and Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia–Pacific.

It’s one of our longest standing and most successful partnerships. Check Out for Children is simple and effective. Guests at Starwood Hotels are invited to add €1 to their bill upon check out, as a donation to UNICEF.

The partnership supports UNICEF Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects across Africa and the Middle East.

This year UNICEF and Starwood Hotels & Resorts are celebrating 20 years of their Check Out for Children partnership and saying thank you to guests and employees who together have raised over $30 million to help UNICEF improve the lives of more than 4.5 million children.

Employee Fundraising: Road to Awareness

Through the partnership, Starwood employees can get involved in fundraising for other UNICEF projects.

Since 2008, Road to Awareness donations received through the hard work and enthusiasm of Starwood employees, have yielded a phenomenal €1.6 million, funding projects in Mozambique, Egypt and South Africa.

In 2013 Irish employees cycled from The Westin Hotel in Dublin to The Sheraton Hotel in Athlone to raise money for UNICEF. All arrived safe but tired and proud of the money they had raised for UNICEF.

From July to December 2015, employees at the Starwood Customer Contact Centre Cork will be taking part in a large number of hugely important fundraising events.

Their support will help UNICEF provide clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities for children and families across Africa and the Middle East.
