Add one more tick to your bucket list

Your gift can help rewrite a child's future.

Bucketful of Dreams journal

Dear Friend,
Welcome to your Bucketful of Dreams – a personal journey of reflection, purpose and the power to shape children’s futures and help them fulfil their dreams.

You’ve spent a life giving time, love, effort and dreams.

But some dreams – the most powerful ones – aren’t just about you. They’re about what you leave behind.

And this is what Bucketful of Dreams is: A way to take stock of what still inspires you, what you still hope to do, and how you might do something extraordinary for children who need you most.

It’s part bucket list, part journal, part community – and also about leaving a gift in your Will to help children.

And it’s entirely yours.

“Let your days be filled with kindness, courage and love, so your story shines brightly. Make yours worth telling.”

Or keep reading to find out more.

You can help children like five-year-old Subira for generations to come.

Who is this for?

Bucketful or Dreams is for anyone who:

  • ✔︎ Is still doing, dreaming and discovering.
  • ✔︎ Wants to leave more than memories.
  • ✔︎ Believes every child deserves a future – and a fair chance at their own dreams.

It’s for people who know their story isn’t over yet and want the ending to matter.

“Our deepest desire is to leave a legacy of love and light… to spread warmth and understanding in a way that continues to resonate long after one is gone.”

Why start your Bucketful of Dreams?

This is about writing your Will. But it’s also about writing your story – and choosing what comes next.

Here’s what you get:

A moment to reflect

Take stock of your values, your memories, your hopes. Reconnect with what really matters.

A keepsake for loved ones

Your journal becomes something personal to share; filled with your stories, dreams, and important wishes.

Peace of mind

Tidy the loose ends. Leave your wishes, important financial or account details – which will relieve stress for your family when your gone.

A sense of purpose

Be part of a growing community who want their lives and legacies to mean more.

Special invitations

Enjoy access to exclusive events and experiences. From behind-the-scenes updates to supporter gatherings.

No pressure. No cost.

Just a guided space to reflect and record.

A quiet way to give back

And when you are ready to decide what to include in your Will, it will support you in making your decisions and how you can leave a gift to help children and realise their dreams too.

But what if…

Audrey Hepburn was a tireless advocate for children’s rights with UNICEF.

“I’m not wealthy.”

“I’m not ready to talk about my Will.”

“I’m not sure I can make a difference.”

I understand. Bucketful of Dreams isn’t a commitment – and this isn’t a sales pitch. It’s an invitation.

An invitation to pause … reflect … and maybe even smile at the life you’ve lived.

There’s NO pressure, NO cost and certainly NO obligation.

Just a gentle nudge to think about your story, your dreams – and the ones you could help children write and achieve.

“We are not here merely to pass the time; we are here to craft a narrative that resonates long after we are gone… built on kindness, courage and love.”

  5. And if it feels right.. consider leaving UNICEF a gift in your Will.

A small tick on your list. A big step for a child with hopes and dreams who needs you.

“Every moment is a sentence in the story of our lives… our legacy isn’t built on possessions, but on enduring acts of kindness.”

Why UNICEF – and why now?

“Since the world has existed, there has been injustice. But… those who have should give to those who have nothing.” – Audrey Hepburn

Fill your bucket list and leave a legacy like Audrey’s

More children than ever are at risk.

And every single one – whether born into war, poverty, or crisis – deserves not just a future, but the freedom to dream.

UNICEF is there for them. Always.

In war zones, after earthquakes, during droughts, we make sure no child is forgotten.

Your gift could mean safe water, an education, nourishing food, protection, a life full of opportunity, hopes and dream – all possible because of you.

A gift in your Will turns compassion into action. And makes your life’s story part of something far bigger for decades to come.

As Audrey Hepburn said:

“As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”

The impact of legacy giving

Yemen is one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. Around 9.8 million children are suffering from the effects of years of conflict. And one of the main threats they face is unsafe water.

Three-year-old Mohammed learned this through painful experience.

The water supplies his family were able to collect from local water trucks brought cholera into their home. Mohammed became seriously ill.

“I felt like our boy was done,” his father Nabil said.

Thanks to his parents quick thinking and medical treatment, Mohammed was able to make a full recovery. And he now not only survives but thrives thanks to UNICEF-supported solar-powered water systems, which secure safe water supplies for 2.5 million people in Yemen.

Costing just under €1.2 million, the biggest of these projects has secured a safe water supply for over 137,000 people in Dhamar, where Nabil and his family live.

Gifts in Wills are vital to UNICEF for ongoing programmes like solar-powered water projects, in addition to providing life-saving funding for humanitarian emergencies, allowing UNICEF teams to respond at speed and at scale to save children’s lives.

Audrey Hepburn’s greatest role was helping children

At the height of her fame, Audrey Hepburn was one of cinema’s brightest lights, gracing red carpets at the world’s most glamorous movie premieres. Yet behind the elegance and acclaim, she carried a lifelong memory of hunger.

As a child in Holland during the Second World War, Audrey experienced severe food shortages, an experience that shaped her compassion and sense of purpose. Those early years inspired her lifelong commitment to helping children in need, and in 1988 she became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

“I can testify what UNICEF means to children,” she said, “because I was among those who received food and medical relief right after World War II.”

From famine-stricken Ethiopia to communities around the world, Audrey used her unmistakable voice and iconic status to make the world listen to children. On a memorable visit to Dublin, where her father had once lived, she told The Late Late Show’s Gay Byrne that when children “see UNICEF, their faces light up.”

In her final years, it was her humanitarian work with UNICEF that she was most proud of, more than any role she played on screen.

Today, you can help carry her dream forward.
