About Blazing Sky

During Christmas 2023, Irish composer Liam Bates saw an image of the child who “would be born under the rubble” among the suffering that Christmas. This haunting image inspired Liam’s beautiful and evocative choral song Blazing Sky.

Conflicts can be complex. The one single truth is that in any conflict, it is the children who suffer most. Blazing Sky puts the spotlight back on the children.

Recorded at the National Opera House in June 2024, with a choir of 36 teenagers and filmed by director Ciarán Foy, the song has now been released.

Please share the song, sing it with your choir, sing it with your school and most importantly, support UNICEF.
