You can help children like those affected by a flash flood in Nepal

Children in Nepal are at risk now – you can help save them

Right now, 17,000 children are caught in crisis after a devastating flash flood tore through Nepal.

Over 1,000 people have died and more than 4,000 are still missing. Homes, schools and hospitals have been swept away. Roads and water systems are destroyed, leaving many children without clean water, food or medical care, and at growing risk of disease and malnutrition. An estimated 2,600 young children need urgent treatment for severe acute malnutrition.

UNICEF teams are on the ground now, delivering emergency medical care, food and clean water to families who have lost everything.

Sonika and her little brother barely survived

Families like Sonika’s need your help

When floods tore through 13-year-old Sonika’s village in Nepal, she grabbed her three-year-old brother and ran for higher ground. Behind her, the home her family had lived in for generations was swept away.

She kept running, carrying her brother through the jungle as people shouted for everyone to climb higher. She had no idea where her parents were.

The family survived. But now they have nothing but the clothes on their backs, each other, and the help of people like you.
