WATCH Unfairy Tales: true stories from refugee children

UNICEF’s beautiful Unfairy Tales animations tell the heartbreaking stories of children who have had to flee conflict and poverty.

Malak and the Boat, tells of a young girl’s voyage to her new life, in a leaky boat.

This little girl is just one of millions on the move.

Malak’s terrifying story is not unusual.

At least 65 million children and young people globally are on the move – escaping conflict, poverty and extreme weather – looking for a more stable life and a place to call home.

UNICEF, the global children’s organisation, is telling the stories of refugee and migrant children.

Children are children, no matter where they come from; every child has rights and deserves a fair chance.

Some stories were never meant for children.

Watch another Unfairy Tale, Mustafa goes for a walk.
