Voices for children

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors are leading figures from the worlds of sport, the arts and entertainment, including social media influencers, writers and TV personalities.

Our Ambassadors play a vital role in raising awareness of the issues facing children around the world, using their platform to advocate, fundraise and educate on behalf of UNICEF.

Globally, UNICEF is proud to count Lionel Messi, David Beckham, Millie Bobby Brown, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Shakira among its network of supporters.

In Ireland, we are honoured to be represented by our outstanding National Ambassadors. Meet the team below.

Stories from the field

Other UNICEF Ireland ambassadors over the years have included Gaelic footballer Dermot Earley, RTÉ comedy character Dustin, champion golfer Rory McIlroy and actor Ferdia Walsh-Peelo.

They have been joined by inspiring Youth Ambassadors, who have traveled the World advocating on behalf of children’s rights, including Natasha Maimba and Minahil Sarfraz.

Our ambassadors often join UNICEF staff in the field to see firsthand the incredible work our generous donors make possible for children.

Joe Canning has travelled to countries like Syria and Turkey, while Donncha O’Callaghan has visited many UNICEF projects, including a heart-breaking trip to Lebanon.

Cathy Kelly took an emotional trip a refugee camp, Laura Whitmore’s life was changed on a visit to Nepal, while Stephen Rea saw the impact of climate change in Somalia.
